Before I go further into my matches, I want to say that I don't like that TCG player has reported so many states decklists but not for California yet!!
I went 5-3 at states. My deck was designed to BEAT the control decks. I metagamed and usually paid off, but lost to the hyper aggro G/W or mono White decks. That is where 2 of my 3 losses were. The 3rd was to the R/G Ember swallower deck.
Anyway, let's see if I can remember round by round.
Round 1: Vs Mono green devotion. I barely win by selesnya charm'ing nylea in game 3.
Round 2: Lost to the person who would end up winning states! He was on boros midrange. Lost in game 3 to triple stormbreath dragon topdecks!
Round 3: Vs a U/W control deck. Won pretty easily after SB.
Round 4: Lost to the R/G ember swallower deck. I couldn't ramp fast enough to a monstrous ember swallower or monstrous polukranos.
Round 5: Won vs a U/W control deck. Again, an easy win for me.
Round 6: Lost to a hyper aggro white weenie deck splashing green for smiter and fleecemane lion. Felt unfair
Round 7: Won vs a RDW deck. I predicted this deck and I can wall out and stall out pretty easily vs them.
Round 8: This was the elimination match. I was in contention for packs. I came out ahead by playing a mono blue deck. Mistcutter hydra just destroyed him game 2. Game 1, I just had all the answers for everything he did, and I played around his counters.
In the end, I ended up in top 64 so I got 9 packs. Not too bad.

Or at least to the best of my knowledge this is what I ran.
After states, I realized that elspeth was always a dead card in my hand. Never got to 6 mana to cast ever. I cut her, and cut the selesnya charm. I cut the sin collectors as I already had a great matchup vs control.
Then I went to a sunday magic event where winner got a FTV20

I liked the list better. But lost to esper control (she top decked all the answers when she needed them in game 3... despite my thoughtseizes)
I think sin collector deserves a spot back in. I do like the bow of nylea. I think hero's downfall deserves a cut to sideboard. I want to play more obzedat and not play blood baron anymore either. I do like desecration demon. I also think that polukranos, world eater deserves a chance as well as vraska the unseen.
Anyway, this was just a post to show what I am running. Junk midrange (or the rock as some people I know would call it). I think it is positioned very well (especially after the mono blue decks tore up PT Dublin). I am going to fit in 4x elvish mystic when I can find them, and will change up things after that.
